TRAINING : Aptet Presentation of Module 2

In the framework of the teacher training in Greece, Hana Lőrinczová presented module 2 of the handbook. The chapter is focused on green entrepreneurship. Responsible towards nature as well as towards the community.

Bringing and showing them how to present the selected topics in an inspiring way to the students was our only task and therefore we took it on actively. After the theoretical introduction. Explaining the basic concepts that are essential not only for teachers and students but also for the social entrepreneurs themselves, we got down to the activities.

We conceived the presentation in an interactive way as well as the way of the presentation itself and the subsequent discussion. Teachers tried out the prepared activities in groups. Their task was to find as many green solutions as possible and then to propose a procedure to implement them in practice.

This gave teachers a unique opportunity to take part in the activities and to try and experience the world from a different 'perspective'. They found the activities and their process beneficial and we were able to bring discussion into the previously formal atmosphere.

PREPERING FOR THE TRAINING: Aptet ISP preparing for the training - creating activities

On 29.06.’23 we held a meeting within the Aptet ISP team to prepare activities for the training. We focused on simple activities to not only educate the students but also to develop their social connections and most importantly to inspire them in the field of social entrepreneurship.

We created the activities by brainstorming together to create the most appropriate assignments to inspire the teachers. We have also included different methods of conducting the activity and its possible variations.

The aim of these activities was to provide the teachers participating in the training with the necessary know-how, to show them different ways of conducting non-formal education, along with practical examples, so that they could present the material covered in the handbook to the students in the most creative way possible.

For these activities, the teacher is just a kind of supervisor, guiding the students in the completion and successful understanding of the chosen area.

Activities

1. Answer - question

The first activity, aiming to test the students' knowledge, consists of a very simple example. This will give the students the answer to the question. Their task will be to look for the most precise, specific and explanatory questions. They will then brick them up within the group/class.

The aim of the chosen activity is to test theoretical knowledge and develop creative thinking.

2. Associations

Students form a series of associations on a selected topic with a focus on social entrepreneurship, e.g. soft skills. The activity can be done individually but also in groups, in writing and orally. The students thus form a kind of mind map, which will then help them to build a kind of priority ranking needed to create a successful business plan.

The aim of the chosen activity is to develop creative thinking and compassion for the chosen group, company and clientele.

3. Square

Students are given a sheet of paper on the top of which is a question related to the selected area and on the bottom of which becomes a blank square in which students write or draw answers to the selected question.

The aim of the chosen activity is to develop creative thinking and, in particular, to review the material in an informal way.

The Aptet ISP team thoroughly enjoyed creating and fine-tuning the activities for the training. We tried out all the activities once they were set up and ended this session with a discussion with suggestions for the way forward.

The activities will be presented at the training by Hana Lőrinczová.

Social Entrepreneurship (before education): Students from the secondary school in Zlaté Moravce on an educational excursion

On 28.05.’23 we were visited in Aptet ISP, družstvo, r.s.p. by students of the Secondary School, Zlaté Moravce accompanied by their teacher Mgr. Jana Palajová.

We started with a presentation of the organization, its basic characteristics - we talked about the activities we do, about our employees, about the contribution of the organization to society through the eyes of our employees.

The students had the opportunity to see the workplace adapted to the needs of people with disabilities and also the premises of the intergenerational and community centre created in Aptet.

But we also discussed more general topics, such as the basic pillars of entrepreneurship and the importance of social entrepreneurship as such. Not only did the students perceive the benefits of social entrepreneurship in an overwhelmingly positive light, they even assessed in the presentation itself that entrepreneurship can and does indeed be 'more than just about profit'. It was clearly evident that they enjoyed the discussion on this topic and were actively involved throughout - actively asking questions and responding to the theses presented.

During the excursion, the students learned not only about the results of successful social entrepreneurship but also about the importance and necessity of such entrepreneurship in society.

The students together with their professor and our team created a very pleasant atmosphere.

The organization was presented and the discussion was led by the director of Aptet ISP, družstvo, r.s.p: PhDr. Stanislav Lőrincz.

Social Entrepreneurship (before education): 4 Geniko Lykeio Larisas : participation on European Money Quiz (EMQ) of the European Banking Federation (EBF)

1st place in Europe for Greece and the 4th General Lyceum of Larissa in the European Money Quiz (EMQ) of the European Banking Federation (EBF)

The students Anestis Tomi and Pantelis Chemelidis of the 1st grade of our high school, having first won the 1st place in the National Money knowledge competition of the Hellenic Banking Association (EET) last March, succeeded and won the 1st place in the European Competition knowledge of EMQ money among the champions of 27 other countries and a total number of participants that exceeded 37,500.

The European EMQ competition, which aims to improve the financial literacy of students aged 13-15, was held in Brussels on May 16 after the students together with their accompanying teachers mr. Gerovasilis Angeliki and Domanoglou Kyriaki, who encouraged and prepared them for the competition, and the representatives of EET, Dr. Ziakou Sofia and Mr. Perifanos Angelos, first followed an intense program of activities with a visit to the European Parliament, the Parlamentarium, the Wikifin Lab, the opening ceremony of the European Stock Exchange and the Museum of European History.

The 1st place is of particular importance if we consider that it is the first time that Greek champions are students of a public school and at the same time the first time that Greece wins in the European Competition.

The 1st place prize in the National competition was a computer for the school. The costs of the trip to Brussels were fully covered by the Hellenic Bankers' Association, which organized the competition and supported the Greek team throughout its preparation. The prize for winning 1st place in the European EMQ Competition is 3,000 euros allocated for the needs of the school.
